Introduction to Jewish Culture, Thought, and Practice

Dr. Naomi Brenner

What does it mean to be Jewish?  How have Jewish identities changed from the Bible to the 21st century?  These are some of the many questions we will tackle as we examine Jewish beliefs, practices, and cultures, and explore diverse expressions of “being Jewish.”  From the Bible to "Transparent," from the Holocaust to the Borsht Belt, this course will focus on wide-ranging topics in Jewish culture, thought and practice.
