Graduate Degree Program Description
Master Of Arts, Near Eastern Languages and Cultures
Master of Arts Graduate HandbookPurposes of the Masters Program
This document is intended to serve two purposes. For prospective and new applicants, it contains basic information about the admissions procedures, areas of study, course offerings and degree requirements of the graduate program within the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures (NELC). It also constitutes a regularly updated reference manual of graduate study in the Department to which faculty and current students may refer as needed on a continuing basis. All graduate students are expected to become familiar with the Graduate School Handbook (GSH), to which this document is a supplement, as it contains a great deal of important information on general degree requirements and graduate study at The Ohio State University. Responsibility for knowing and observing the deadlines and procedures of the Graduate School rests entirely with the student. Students are urged to contact the Graduate School (247 University Hall, 230 North Oval Mall) to obtain information on deadlines and procedures.
